Specialist Dyscalculia Training

1. Unicorn Maths Programme
A two-day course held each academic term. This programme is a multi-sensory maths development scheme for the remediation of dyscalculia.

It is suitable for teachers of pupils at Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, and also for older students who are experiencing severe difficulties with number. It will enable SENCO's, learning support teachers and classroom assistants to maximise their roles in the guidance of pupils with dyscalculia.

2. Using Manipulatives and Software- in development
A hands on multi-sensory training day for teachers, support teachers and practitioners to facilitate their teaching of dyscalculic pupils.

The training will give an overview of tools and specific approaches that can be used to move the student from the concrete to the abstract and develop a grasp of number and numerical relationships.
